Gospel musician, Lanre Teriba aka Atorise, went all out as he threw shades at Tope Alabi publicly over her criticism of Adeyinka Alaseyori's hit song "Oniduro Mi eseun o."
The singer of the song, Adeyinka Alaseyori, was also at the scene and her reaction was amusing.
Tope Alabi’s controversial comments has generated back-lash from music lovers with the gospel songstress trending across social media platforms.
In a video which went viral on social media, Tope Alabi could be heard saying it is so wrong to refer to God as ‘Oniduro mi’ (my guarantor) and that she was instructed by the Holy Spirit to cease from singing the song.
She said:
“God is not my own guarantor; he is more than a guarantor to me. I love the song too but the day I tried singing it, the holy spirit told me to shut up,” she said in the Yoruba language.
“This is not about condemning the song; when you receive a song in the spirit, it is supposed to go through some refining with the holy ghost before producing it, else, you will just be singing rubbish,” she added in part.
Speaking and performing on stage at an event over the weekend, Lanre Teriba, who did not hide his feelings for Tope Alabi, questioned the names she is also known for using to describe God.
He offered a prayer in Yoruba, saying, ” Anyone that needs to say the wrong thing for my glory to shine, may that person speak.”
Reacting, Adeyinka Aleseyori, who was also present at the event, expressed shock at Lanre Teriba’s statement.
