Couple Arrested For Allegedly Staging Daughter’s Kidnap To Repay Bank Loan

A Nigerian couple has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force for allegedly staging the kidnap of their 21-year-old daughter, Stephine Solomon Oghenevoke, in Delta state.

The young lady was declared missing on the 19th of July, 2021.

According to PUNCH, her parents were nabbed on Sunday night, August 1, after the police received an intelligence report that they allegedly staged their daughter’s abduction.

According to a source who spoke with MOBILE PUNCH, the parents who reside at Olomu Street in Warri were still being interrogated by the Police B-Division, Warri, as of Monday evening.

Another source alleged that Stephine, staff at a popular Bank in Warri, had helped her parents secure a loan of N17 million from the bank.

They reportedly collected the loan for business development but failed to pay it back as of when due which made the bank clamp down on them to return the loan. However, they reportedly refused to pay back.

According to the report, in an attempt to raise money to repay the loan, the couple allegedly resorted to staging their daughter’s kidnap.

Meanwhile, the alleged kidnap victim is yet to be released, according to the sources.
