A 19-year-old woman, Fatimo Agboke, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her neighbor’s son to death in the Ijegun area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on September 9, 2024, during a confrontation between Agboke and the 20-year-old victim, Faroul Azeez.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Agboke and Azeez were involved in a fight during which she allegedly used a broken bottle to stab him in the neck.
Hundeyin told Punch on September 11, 2024, that the victim sustained severe injuries and died while being rushed to the hospital.
"On September 9, 2024, a complaint was received from the Ijegun area, reported at Isheri-Oshun Division, about an altercation between a neighbor and the complainant’s son," Hundeyin said.
He further detailed,
The victim was found with a deep cut on his neck from the broken bottle and was pronounced dead at the hospital." The police have removed the body, which has been taken to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.
The suspect, Agboke, has been taken into custody, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
